may be too soon to predict a full economic recovery; however, the
leisure travel industry is beginning to show signs of promise,
according to leading experts. Overall bookings are starting to trend
higher, optimism is definitely on the rise and a significant number
of leisure travelers are taking advantage of current hotel prices
and ‘trading up’ to more luxurious accommodations, according to
Roger Block, president of Travel Leaders Franchise Group, with
locations nationally.
There
is still time to enjoy a fall escape, and today’s travel bargains
are reason enough to book now before the holiday rush. Fall airfares
are down 17 percent over 2008, and Las Vegas is a steal, according
to travel expert Christopher Elliott.
There’s
nothing like a casual getaway to a Northwoods resort – especially in
the midst of an economy downturn when many have postponed or
cancelled their vacation travel plans. Consider a golf outing or a
canoe trip to the Boundary Waters or an all-inclusive lodge -- there
